Prime Minister and DUP leader Arlene Foster spoke by telephone shortly after midday today
DUP leader Arlene Foster has given British Prime Minister Theresa May no grounds for believing the party's ten MP's will vote for her Brexit Withdrawal proposals in the next Westminster vote. DUP sources say there was no indication given that the party would change the approach it two in the two previous Westminster votes.
Earlier, Mrs May held a cabinet meeting, which could determine whether a third attempt will be made to pass the EU-UK Withdrawal Agreement in the UK parliament. A Downing Street spokesman said: "The PM and a number of government ministers met … at Chequers for lengthy talks with senior colleagues about delivering Brexit.
They want the Commons to start looking at what Brexit alternatives might be able to command a majority among MPs as Mrs May's deal remains mired in crisis. But Chancellor Philip Hammond said "one way or another" MPs would be given the opportunity this week to decide what it is in favour of, though he could not confirm whether Tories would be given a free vote on the options. Elsewhere, Mr Johnson claimed the government had "chickened out" of delivering Brexit this week.
