The UK is expected to experience its 'hottest day of the year' today
The Met Office has predicted highs of 29C in Nottinghamshire today after weeks of grey skies and rain. The temperatures would make it one of the hottest days of 2024 so far.
According to forecasts, the sun will be at its strongest between 4pm and 5pm when it is set to be 29C. It is expected to be sunny all day, with a light chance of rain around 6pm. In its East Midlands outlook for today, the Met Office says: "A fine and dry day, with sunny spells. Feeling very warm or hot, with light winds. Breezier along the coast, where it will feel a little fresher. Maximum temperature 30 °C."The UK is expected to experience its 'hottest day of the year' over the next 48 hours, after 30.3C was recorded in June. Nottinghamshire is set to bask in further sunshine as we head towards the weekend.
